Burner safety management system at enlink midstream

EnLink Midstream turned to Honeywell technology (implemented by systems integrator Federal Services) to address chronic performance and safety problems at its Bridgeport Plant‑1 hot oil heater. Aging, obsolete instrumentation and weather‑driven issues such as strong winds and low temperatures caused back‑drafting, poor combustion control and personnel risk, so EnLink sought a modern, NFPA‑87‑compliant Burner Safety Management System (BSMS) using Honeywell products including Experion PKS, the HC900 controller, RM7800 burner programmer, STG700 SmartLine transmitters and Honeywell/Maxon fuel safety valves.

Federal Services implemented a Honeywell‑based BSMS integrating HC900 controllers into the Experion PKS, RM7800 burner control, STG700 transmitters and Maxon shutoff valves to provide burner protection, combustion and draft control, diagnostics and thermal mass control. The Honeywell solution eliminated back‑drafting, improved uptime and reduced troubleshooting time, cut fuel use by 3–5%, brought asset security to SIL‑2 and kept stack emissions within permitted limits.
