Bond-A-Band Improves Production Quality

Bond-A-Band, a UK-based producer of high-performance aliphatic polyurethane films and sheets, needed better monitoring and control as it expanded into new markets and increased production at its Halifax plant. The company turned to Honeywell for measurement and quality-control expertise and selected Honeywell’s MXProLine Quality Control System to meet those needs.

Honeywell implemented the MXProLine system — a single high-speed sensor and process-analysis tools that measure thickness across film and sheet and enable real-time process control. The solution improved product quality by a factor of 3, significantly reduced film/sheet variation, lowered raw material consumption and scrap, and increased yield and downstream production efficiency; Bond-A-Band now plans a long-term partnership with Honeywell.
