Bon Appetit - Customer Case Study

Bon Appetit, a California-based wholesale bakery supplying retail and convenience stores across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, was struggling with unreliable consumer-grade PDAs used by its 400 delivery drivers—about 5% of devices required repair each week (roughly 15–20 units), creating nearly 1,000 costly incidents annually and two-week repair turnarounds. Seeking rugged hardware that would integrate with their existing ERP, Bon Appetit selected Honeywell mobile computers and printers to modernize field operations.

Honeywell deployed its mobile computers and printers (and Honeywell Repair Services) to provide routing, item verification, signature capture and on-the-spot invoice printing. The Honeywell solution cut repair turnaround from two weeks to two business days, delivered 12-hour battery life, survived extreme field abuse, and materially reduced replacements, user error and delivery times—helping drivers get in and out of stores faster and lowering operational costs.
