Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, operator of the Dung Quat refinery and a key national oil & gas asset, faced increasing, more sophisticated cyber threats to its industrial control networks and wanted to bring its Process Control Networks (PCNs) in line with global cybersecurity standards. As a long‑time customer of Honeywell, Binh Son engaged Honeywell’s Managed Industrial Security Services (MSS) to move beyond baseline protection and achieve a higher level of cyber assurance.

Honeywell delivered enhanced MSS capabilities—better-managed security updates, an authenticated encrypted Secure Connection VPN for remote troubleshooting with full recordings and audit trails, follow‑the‑sun support from Security Service Centers in Houston, Bucharest and Singapore, and interactive monthly trending reports—plus deployment of Honeywell Secure Media Exchange (SMX) to control USB/removable media risk. The result, according to Binh Son, was reduced downtime, faster responsiveness to issues, improved production uptime, and stronger operational stability and safety; Binh Son renewed Honeywell’s MSS for its ninth successive year.
