AstralPool Makes a Big Splash with an Automated Labeling Solution from Intermec by Honeywell

AstralPool, a global manufacturer and supplier of pool and spa equipment, faced rapidly rising labeling demands at its Noble Park facility as product lines and international regulatory requirements expanded. Their legacy desktop labeling system left a single production planner printing thousands of labels in bulk, creating wasted time and materials and failing to meet new market standards (notably UL and other regional requirements). To address this, AstralPool engaged Honeywell and selected the Intermec by Honeywell PM43 smart printer solution.

Honeywell’s Intermec PM43 printers—deployed with the Fingerprint standalone capability and a locally managed template database—gave AstralPool on-demand, flexible label printing that met worldwide customer standards. The new Honeywell solution was rolled out in about a month and delivered tangible gains: 60–70% time savings in label printing, a fivefold payback on the project, reduced preprinted label waste, lower repair and downtime costs, and a platform for further automation.
