A-Class Print Engines Improve Efficiency in Packaging Processes at The Cheese Warehouse

The Cheese Warehouse, a leading UK cheese supplier, faced rising order volumes and slow, error-prone labelling that wasted material, time and occasionally broke the cold chain. To solve this, they deployed Honeywell print-and-apply labelling technology using A-Class print engines to bring label printing on‑line and reduce manual handling.

Honeywell’s A-Class print engines were integrated into printer applicators to print labels just before application, eliminating bulk roll handling and cutting label errors to a minimum. The change delivered measurable gains: each line now labels 6 boxes per minute (almost 13,000 labels per A-Class engine per 12‑hour day), substantially reduced waste and downtime, long print‑head life (example: 2 years 5 months before replacement), and a clear boost in productivity and cost efficiency for The Cheese Warehouse.
