Case Study: Wyoming Liquor Division achieves voice-directed, high-accuracy order fulfillment with Honeywell Intelligrated

A Honeywell Intelligrated Case Study

Preview of the Wyoming Liquor Division Case Study

Voice-directed fulfillment enables world-class beverage variety for the “Cowboy State”

The Wyoming Liquor Division, the state’s wholesale distributor serving 1,478 licensed retailers, faced rising demand driven by tourism and population growth that its legacy 100,000 sq. ft. distribution center and paper-based picking system could no longer support. The operation struggled with limited storage, increasing SKUs and complex split-case orders, causing stockouts, slow fulfillment and the risk of earlier order cutoffs—prompting a need for a modern facility and a smarter order-fulfillment solution.

The Division built a 145,000 sq. ft. DC and implemented Intelligrated’s voice-directed picking integrated with its WMS—using wireless devices, Bluetooth headsets and a 300-foot bottle conveyor to enable hands-free, collaborative picking and real-time supervisory dashboards. The upgrade delivered faster training, reduced errors and higher throughput: a 15% productivity gain versus the legacy process, 99.9% order accuracy, more than 3,000 cases and 12,000 bottles shipped daily, same-day shipping for orders placed by noon and strong financial returns that exceeded the Division’s ROI targets.
