Case Study: adidas Group achieves faster, high-volume fulfillment and reduced costs with Honeywell Intelligrated

A Honeywell Intelligrated Case Study

Preview of the Adidas Case Study

The Right Team With The Right Experience Wins Big

adidas Group, after acquiring Reebok, consolidated its U.S. distribution network by building a 2-million+ sq. ft. greenfield campus in Spartanburg, SC comprising two high-volume DCs to receive and ship hundreds of thousands of footwear and apparel units daily. The initiative aimed to improve customer service and same‑day/e‑commerce responsiveness, reduce operating costs through automation, and provide scalable capacity for future growth.

Working with Sedlak Management Consultants and Intelligrated, adidas deployed a fully automated material‑handling solution—conveyors, IntelliSort sorters, packing merges and InControlWare software—plus novel inductions like a “waterfall” gaylord dump and a “domino” shoebox feeder to speed and ergonomically simplify throughput. The project was delivered on time and on budget, met productivity and savings targets, improved service levels, supported same‑day guarantees, and incorporated several sustainability measures.
