Keeping “those boxes moving” is critical: unscheduled downtime drives direct costs and damages customer satisfaction, so Avon needed a consistent, predictable preventive maintenance and parts-support strategy to sustain throughput and accuracy.
Avon contracted Intelligrated in 2002 for a focused parts-support and preventive maintenance program that uses quarterly, prescribed inspections performed over dedicated weekend shifts, CMMS work-order tracking, pre/post service checks, parts accounting and scheduled repairs. The program cut unscheduled downtime by about 68% (exceeding the 50% target), improved parts availability and cost control, and helped maintain on-time shipments and customer satisfaction.
