Geckoboard, a customer dashboard platform, needed better observability as it scaled across 60+ third-party API integrations and Go services. While it already used Librato and log search tools for high-level monitoring, the team needed a way to quickly see exactly which customer or endpoint was affected by an issue without rebuilding their existing dashboards and alerts.
Honeycomb, using Beelines to send events and traces, gave Geckoboard context-rich observability data, automatic instrumentation, heatmaps, and BubbleUp for outlier detection. The team said Honeycomb made it much easier and faster to find relevant data and navigate traces, helping them identify and resolve issues they previously struggled to track down while continuing to evolve their legacy monitoring setup.
