Instrument, a Portland-based digital creative agency with 400+ employees, faced a gap in foundational leadership training as many managers had been promoted organically and held varied leadership styles. To quickly upskill new managers, create a shared leadership language, and offer flexible, bite-sized learning for a busy, distributed team, Instrument chose Hone and enrolled leaders in Hone’s Manager Core 101 and Manager Core 201 programs starting in October 2021.

Hone delivered small-group, live training cohorts (from executives to individual contributors) with dedicated admin support and customizable content, resulting in 161 graduates, a 4.8/5 program rating, 60% of direct reports reporting significant improvement in manager leadership, 98% of participants saying sessions were a good use of time, and a +60 NPS versus an industry average of -8. Instrument has continued the partnership and doubled down on ongoing leadership development with Hone.
