Routes of the streets for people sleeping rough in Kings Lynn

Purfleet Trust, a homelessness charity in Kings Lynn, faced persistent rough sleeping, street drinking and gaps in services for single people who were excluded from hostels or struggled to sustain tenancies. With support from Homeless Link through the Homelessness Transition Fund (HTF), the Trust secured funding to expand capacity and embed focused key‑working to better prevent and end individual rough sleeping.

Supported by Homeless Link, the HTF (£106,277 over 18 months) enabled Purfleet Trust to add two support workers and a housing services manager, introduce Outcomes Star assessments, create training flats and secure emergency direct‑access beds, and build partnerships with the local authority and police (including trainee police placements). The programme supported 612 people during the grant period, contributed to a reduction in single‑night rough‑sleeping counts (from about 20 to around 3 reported over two years), reduced repeat homelessness and established a replicable training‑flat model for move‑on accommodation.
