Electric ambitions to spark a culture of recognition

Dixons Retail, Europe’s largest specialist electrical retailing and services company, wanted to strengthen recognition across a fragmented employee recognition landscape. Their annual survey showed existing schemes weren’t working well enough, so they approached Home to help create a more cohesive, engaging framework that would motivate colleagues across stores, support centres, and delivery teams.

Home developed “You’re Electric,” a recognition brand and three-tier framework built around four Electric Principles: being one team, showing excellent knowledge, going the extra mile, and delivering great customer service. Home also involved employees in workshops and testing, and provided managers with tools like guides and email generators. The results were strong: 4,000 people signed up within three days, and by 31 January 13,324 colleagues had registered with 25,182 thank-you nominations made.
