omlox, an open industrial tracking standard from PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International), needed a way to visualize real-time asset tracking data in augmented reality on mobile devices without compromising performance, data security, or requiring proprietary infrastructure. The challenge was to process complex data and 3D models on devices with limited computing power while keeping sensitive location data secure and centralized.

The vendor, Hololight, implemented its XR streaming solution, Hololight Stream, which offloads all processing to a centralized server. This integration enabled precise, stable AR indoor navigation without needing QR codes or complex hall preparation. The result is a secure system where no sensitive data is stored on the end-user device, allowing for efficient asset tracking and safe employee navigation with significantly higher precision than comparable systems.
