How Deutsche Telekom and Hololight Enable XR Streaming Beyond Wi-Fi

Deutsche Telekom faced the challenge of enabling high-performance XR streaming for industrial applications in remote field environments like construction sites, where reliable Wi-Fi connectivity was rarely available. Low and stable latency is essential for a smooth XR experience, but this was difficult to achieve over cellular networks.Hololight provided the solution by integrating L4S, an intelligent rate adaptation standard for 5G networks developed by Deutsche Telekom and Ericsson, directly into its proprietary XR streaming technology. This integration allowed for high-performance, lag-free XR streaming over 5G, minimizing jitter and ensuring complex 3D holograms remained sharp and responsive even in areas with weaker connectivity. The result empowers experts to use high-end XR applications anywhere, removing the previous constraint of requiring a stable Wi-Fi connection.
