EagleWing Visualizes Sports Car Components in AR

EagleWing, a student engineering team, was developing a new adaptive rear wing for sports cars but faced a challenge. They struggled to achieve a spatial understanding of their complex CAD model, a problem exacerbated by the difficulty of collaborating on the design virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Using Hololight's Hololight Space AR software, the team was able to visualize their 3D CAD model as a life-size hologram. This allowed them to collaboratively identify and rectify design errors early, better match components, and gain a superior understanding of the part's integration into a vehicle. The solution from Hololight enabled EagleWing to avoid costly prototyping iterations and prepare a more efficient manufacturing process for their first functional prototype.
