BASF Leverages Augmented Realty Training

The Care Chemicals Academy at BASF needed to improve its mandatory safety compliance training for production workers. The conventional training, which used a large physical model, was complex to organize and offered limited hands-on participation for its 30-40 participants per session. They partnered with vendor Hololight to address this challenge.

Using Hololight Space, BASF implemented an interactive augmented reality training scenario. The solution guided workers through procedures using a partial physical model extended with virtual elements, allowing every participant to complete the hands-on exercises. As a result, the AR format became the official training standard at BASF's Ludwigshafen site, with plans to roll it out to additional locations to ensure global training quality and standards.
