Yale University Shows HoloBuilder Isn’t Just for Contractors

Yale University’s Office of Facilities needed a better way to document and manage building data across a large, historic campus with over 400 buildings, 20 million square feet, and hundreds of capital projects each year. When Yale was introduced to HoloBuilder, it saw an opportunity to use the 360° site photo platform not just for contractors, but as a long-term asset management tool for its own capital planning and facilities teams.

Yale implemented HoloBuilder across planned capital projects, residences, and major initiatives like Science Hill, with contractors required to capture 360° photos and Yale managing the data centrally. The platform helped teams quickly document entire buildings, improve visibility for architects, IT, accounts payable, and academic stakeholders, and reduce the need for repeated site visits and in-person walkthroughs. Yale has already set up over 120 projects with about 700 access groups, and HoloBuilder is now positioned to support future facilities management decisions as well.
