Case Study: Hensel Phelps saves 4,680 hours annually with HoloBuilder

A HoloBuilder Case Study

Preview of the Hensel Phelps Case Study

Hensel Phelps saved a total of 4,680 hours annually by using HoloBuilder rather than traditional photo capture methods

Hensel Phelps, a top 20 ENR general contractor, needed a better way to manage construction photo documentation on its $1.2B Harvey Milk Terminal 1 project at San Francisco International Airport. Its existing workflows—either locally stored site-plan photos or manually hyperlinked 360° images on an FTP site—were time-consuming, difficult to scale across a large jobsite, and often made it hard to find useful images later. HoloBuilder’s JobWalk App and 360° reality capture were used to address this challenge.

Hensel Phelps co-developed new collaboration and image categorization features with HoloBuilder to let 15 field engineers document their own areas, sync captures to the cloud, and tag photos by activity or phase for easier searching. The result was a weekly, shared documentation process covering 1 million square feet and a reduction of 4,680 hours annually compared with the previous photo capture workflow. HoloBuilder also helped create a more intuitive single source of truth for progress tracking and as-built documentation.
