How Spenmo Successfully Built A Self-service Culture With Holistics

Spenmo, a Singapore-based fintech company, needed a better way to handle growing internal data demand as its business scaled. With just an 8-person data team supporting 200+ business users, analysts were spending too much time on low-impact, ad hoc requests and manual SQL work instead of higher-value projects. To address this, Spenmo adopted Holistics as its self-service BI platform.

Using Holistics, Spenmo built a self-service culture around people, process, and tooling: training business users, improving documentation, and creating reusable semantic models and analytics-as-code workflows. The result was a more maintainable analytics stack and far less analyst bottleneck, with 200+ users able to answer their own questions, 25% dashboard stickiness, 99 daily active users, and the data team serving about 40% of the company’s analytical needs while freeing time for more strategic work.
