Urtica scans up to 50 drug codes per second with Holdapp

Urtica, a leading drug distributor in Poland, faced a significant challenge in its obligation to monitor medications. Their previous system required scanning each drug package individually, a slow process that was further hampered by small, hard-to-read codes. To accelerate and improve this critical operation, they partnered with vendor Holdapp to develop a mobile application.

Holdapp developed an Android app using Kotlin and an adjusted Google ML Kit algorithm, which enabled the scanning of up to 50 codes per second. This solution drastically sped up the monitoring process, facilitated the scanning of poorly legible codes, and integrated information directly with the supplier's ERP system. Holdapp delivered the project on time, successfully fixed all reported issues, and was praised for their efficient and customer-focused communication.
