Singapore Discovery Centre shares 90 stories with HOL to shape The Sandbox Experience

The Singapore Discovery Centre, a local edutainment attraction, faced the challenge of creating an exhibit that gave prominence to the voices and contributions of ordinary Singaporeans. Their goal was to move beyond government-led narratives and inspire citizens to actively imagine and co-create the nation's future. To address this, they engaged vendor HOL for experience and interpretive design.

HOL developed The Sandbox Experience, an immersive gallery using augmented reality, video interviews, and interactive exhibits to showcase 90 stories from citizens. This solution made complex nation-building concepts accessible and emotionally resonant. The revamp was highly successful, broadening the centre's appeal and receiving excellent visitor ratings, including a 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor. It effectively encouraged visitors to critically explore Singapore's future and solidified the centre's position as a leading educational destination.
