Flagstaff High School Increases College Acceptance Rate by 12.8 Percentage Points

Flagstaff High School, a public school in Flagstaff, Arizona serving about 1,600 students—nearly half of whom are from minority backgrounds—needed to strengthen its college and career readiness culture, better meet students’ academic and personal/social needs, and streamline counselors’ and teachers’ workflows that relied on paper-based processes.

In 2007 the counseling department implemented Naviance to digitize ECAPs, assessments, scholarship and college communications, and recommendation letters. The platform helped Flagstaff boost college acceptance by 12.8 percentage points, increase average scholarship awards by over $16,000, grow completed college applications by 23%, and substantially raise graduation rates—including a 17-point gain for Native American students to reach 100%—while simplifying tracking and outreach.
