Timekeeping Solution Helps ACR Stay Competitive

ACR Systems Inc. needed a better way to understand the true cost of its projects and client work. The growing software company had been relying on estimates and guesswork for resource deployment and product pricing, and it lacked a timekeeping system to track labor, support work, and departmental costs. HMS Software’s TimeControl was selected to help ACR gain control over its operations and improve cost accounting.

HMS Software implemented TimeControl on ACR’s existing Windows and UNIX environments, with training and rollout completed in about two weeks. The system replaced manual timesheets for most of ACR’s 125 employees, streamlined 22,000 charge codes down to 1,100, and enabled more accurate cost allocations using actual time data and GL codes. As a result, ACR improved reporting, identified project and support costs more precisely, and began pricing products based on real costs rather than estimates.
