CRI Advantage Inc., the largest IT consulting firm in Idaho, needed a more efficient way to capture time across more than 100 consultants working on 30 to 40 active client projects each week. The company was relying on a slow homegrown system that made time entry cumbersome and complicated billing and payroll, so it turned to HMS Software and its TimeControl timesheet software.

HMS Software implemented TimeControl with a web front end and flexible charge code structure to match CRI Advantage’s work breakdown structure, and the system went live with 127 users after a two-month implementation. The result was faster, more accurate time entry, fewer coding errors, better project and billing reporting, and a rapid return on investment, with CRI estimating the software paid for itself in six to eight months and reducing time entry from up to three hours per week to 30 minutes or less per consultant.
