Case Study: IAC Berlin builds a global member-led alumni network with Hivebrite

A Hivebrite Case Study

IAC Berlin grows member-led projects to 90%+ with Hivebrite

iac Berlin, a Do and Think Tank created by the Robert Bosch Stiftung foundation, faced the challenge of connecting its extensive but dispersed global network of alumni. These individuals were spread across different countries and sectors, making it difficult to facilitate collaboration and maintain engagement around their shared mission of driving social impact. To address this, iac Berlin partnered with vendor Hivebrite to implement its full-stack community platform.

The Hivebrite solution provided a GDPR-compliant platform with tools for networking, event organization, and knowledge sharing. It was structured around member-driven groups to encourage ownership. As a result, the Bosch Alumni Network grew to over 8,000 members. The most significant measurable impact was a dramatic increase in member-led initiatives, which rose from 35% of projects in 2017 to over 90% since 2020, creating a vibrant, self-sustaining community.
