Case Study: iac Berlin achieves a vibrant, member-driven global alumni network with Hivebrite

A Hivebrite Case Study

Preview of the IAC Berlin Case Study

iac Berlin builds collaborative alumni network to help solve complex global challenges

IAC Berlin, the Do and Think Tank created by the Robert Bosch Stiftung to develop impact-oriented networks and coordinate the Bosch Alumni Network, needed a way to unite former and current fellows, grantees and staff to tackle complex global challenges like inequality, migration and climate change. To build a decentralized, GDPR‑compliant global community, IAC Berlin partnered with Hivebrite to power the Bosch Alumni Network.

Using the Hivebrite platform, IAC Berlin implemented member-driven groups, an interactive directory and map, and event and project pages to foster cross-sector, international collaboration. The result: more than 8,000 activated profiles across 140+ countries and 100+ programs in five years, a shift from a hub‑and‑spoke model to member-owned communities, and member-organized projects rising from 35% in 2017 to over 90% since 2020—demonstrating clear engagement and impact enabled by Hivebrite.
