How JA Worldwide connects and engages change makers worldwide to drive more impact

JA Worldwide, a global youth-serving NGO that reaches millions of students through a network of over 450,000 teachers and volunteers, needed a way to keep alumni connected across 100+ countries and strengthen post-program engagement. To solve this, the organization partnered with Hivebrite to build a branded online community called Gather and a companion mobile app to remove geographic and generational barriers and make ongoing alumni interaction simple and accessible.

With Hivebrite’s platform, JA Worldwide launched Gather — including a mobile app, multilingual support, and a Careers board called Gather Opportunities — and empowered 250 alumni leaders to manage 110 sub-communities. The result: a decentralized, scalable network of 50,000 members, higher engagement, reduced core-team workload, and measurable impact through expanded mentoring, events, and job opportunities enabled by Hivebrite’s customizable community tools.
