Chatroulette, the iconic online chat service launched in 2009, needed stronger automated moderation as part of its major v2 platform relaunch. To protect its community and reduce inappropriate content, it partnered with Hive Moderation and implemented Hive’s visual moderation solution for real-time review of user streams.

Hive Moderation helped Chatroulette close over 1.5 million unsafe streams per month, with an average flagging delay of under 1 second. In the three months after integration, inappropriate content decreased by more than 95%, and Chatroulette reported far fewer customer complaints while also achieving 200x fewer false positives than public cloud competitors in testing.
