Mechanimal launches Deepwood in 3 weeks with Hive IT

Mechanimal, a Bristol-based SME creating immersive nature experiences, faced the challenge of developing their concept, Deepwood, into a user-tested prototype that encourages nature-positive behavior. They partnered with Hive IT through the Design to Deliver programme to apply a rigorous, human-centred design process to shape the project from its initial idea.

Hive IT supported Mechanimal by guiding them through the full design thinking process, which included impact mapping, creating behavioral archetypes, and conducting user interviews and testing with local community members. This process helped refine the Deepwood prototype. Hive IT also rapidly developed a website for the project to attract investors and offer an online experience. The result was a highly successful operational prototype that received overwhelmingly positive feedback during its showcase, with so much demand that additional sessions had to be offered.
