Department for Education delivers EES Alpha in 12 weeks with Hive IT

The Department for Education (DfE) commissioned Hive IT to undertake a 12-week Alpha project. The challenge was to explore the design of a new service that would meet the needs of users and producers of the DfE's official statistics, focusing on making data sets accessible, findable, and customizable.

Hive IT ran the project using GDS agile methodology, creating a working prototype through extensive user research and technical investigation. The result was a successful Alpha assessment, providing a solid foundation for the beta stage. Hive IT fostered a collaborative 'One Team' ethos with the DfE and delivered key findings on user needs to inform the next phase of development.
