USU Group, a leading European provider of IT and knowledge management software, needed to enhance its enterprise and IT service management offerings with flexible, on‑demand analytics and visualizations so business users could run ad‑hoc analysis and forecasting without technical help. To achieve this, USU Group partnered with Hitachi Vantara and selected the Pentaho suite (Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics) to add self‑service reporting and near‑real‑time dashboards to its USU Analytics platform.
Working with Hitachi Vantara, USU Group integrated Pentaho as the ETL backbone and front‑end analytics engine, embedding interactive dashboards into USU Service Management and USU License Management (SmartTrack). The solution delivers a 360° view of operational data, provides near‑real‑time insight into metrics like cycle time and ticket volumes, empowers nontechnical users to create visualizations, and speeds issue resolution and request processing—streamlining operations and improving decision‑making across customers’ service processes.
