Sify Technologies Bests Cloud Service Competition With Rapid Install and Top Performance of Hitachi Accelerated Flash

Sify Technologies, a leading ICT and cloud services provider in India, faced rising demand for high-IOPS, small-footprint workloads as the cloud market matured. To avoid costly all‑flash arrays, added controller complexity, and increased space/power needs, Sify worked with Hitachi Vantara to upgrade its Hitachi storage environment using Hitachi Accelerated Flash (alongside Hitachi Unified Storage VM and services from Hitachi Data Systems Global Services Solutions).

Hitachi Vantara implemented 2U flash-module drives (FMDs) into Sify’s existing infrastructure with no downtime and no new management skills required. The FMDs deliver 3–4× the IOPS of traditional SSDs, 2–4× the TB per rack unit, about 32% better power efficiency and roughly one‑third lower cost per TB, while preserving tiering, cloning and replication. The result: higher cloud performance and scalability, simplified management, cost optimization, increased customer satisfaction and improved competitive positioning for Sify.
