SFS Group Moves Toward a Successful Future With a New Private Cloud Infrastructure From Hitachi Data Systems

SFS Group, a global supplier of mechanical fastening systems and precision formed parts, faced an end-of-life central storage and datacenter infrastructure and decided to replace both data centers to build a private cloud. The company selected Hitachi Vantara to deliver a fully automated converged solution, using Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for VMware vSphere, Hitachi Data Protection Suite (powered by Commvault) and Hitachi unified storage and UCP hardware (HUS VM/HUS 130, UCP 300, Compute Blade 520, NAS).

Hitachi Vantara, together with partner LANexpert, implemented an integrated server‑storage‑network stack and a single management portal for rapid provisioning and automated operations. The migration began within three months, and SFS Group achieved measurable gains: roughly 20% reduction in total cost of ownership, provisioning time cut from up to two days to configuration in minutes with full servers available in about two hours, plus greater flexibility, centralized management and more efficient, consolidated IT teams.
