SFS Group Advances Digitization with High Performance Private Cloud

SFS Group, a global manufacturer of fastening systems, needed to expand its private cloud to support a major digitization program and next‑generation, in‑memory applications such as SAP S/4HANA. To deliver the performance, reliability and cost-efficiency required, SFS Group engaged Hitachi Vantara to provide a complete private cloud and data center transformation using converged and hyperconverged infrastructure (Hitachi Unified Compute Platform HC and CI), Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP 5350 and G600), Hitachi Advanced Servers (DS120/DS240), Hitachi Data Protection Suite, Hitachi Content Platform and Hitachi Global‑Active Device.

Hitachi Vantara implemented the consolidated private cloud, deploying 70+ servers and infrastructure to manage roughly 800 virtual/physical servers (including ~300 virtual desktops) and to host SAP, Oracle and SQL workloads. The solution centralized backups and replication, simplified disaster recovery for SAP ERP, reduced administration and maintenance effort by dozens of hours, streamlined operations via a single‑vendor strategy, and lowered total cost of ownership by about 20% — demonstrating measurable improvements in resiliency, provisioning speed and operational efficiency under the Hitachi Vantara platform.
