A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Schneider Electric (China), a global leader in energy efficiency and automation, faced slowing core-system databases and reduced service reliability as its business and data volumes rapidly expanded. The company needed a more powerful, efficient back-end platform to handle higher processing demands, larger backups, and increasingly complex data life-cycle management—so it engaged Hitachi Vantara to modernize storage and ensure consistent performance.
Hitachi Vantara deployed a high‑performance storage platform using Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) systems (VSP G900 in Beijing and VSP 6400 in Wuhan), flash modules (FMD), and software such as Hitachi Storage Virtualization OS, Hitachi Dynamic Tiering, Universal Volume Manager and Thin Image. The solution delivered 100% data availability, reduced database latency and increased storage response speed by 150%, enabled automated “cold‑hot” data management, and used FMD lossless compression to more than double effective capacity—cutting storage costs and improving business agility and user experience.
