Raiffeisenbank Ensures Uninterrupted Services With Innovative Hitachi and Brocade Solution

AO Raiffeisenbank, the Russian subsidiary of Raiffeisen Bank International, faced rapid data growth (more than 100% in three years) and SAN infrastructure at capacity across three Moscow data centers, risking performance and availability for critical banking services. To modernize and scale its storage environment while guaranteeing continuous operations and easy administration, the bank engaged Hitachi Vantara to deploy Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP), Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM) alongside Brocade Gen 5 Fibre Channel networking.

Hitachi Vantara delivered a phased, virtualized multidimensional SAN—using VSP for enterprise‑class availability and performance, HUS VM for consolidation and cost efficiency, and Brocade fabrics for high‑speed resilient connectivity—enabling consolidated resources, dense virtualization and pay‑as‑you‑grow scalability. As a result, AO Raiffeisenbank reports uninterrupted access with no downtime, easier administration, readiness for flash expansion (supporting up to 1.4 million sub‑millisecond flash IOPS), and measurable benefits such as up to about 40% lower operating costs.
