Rabobank Achieves Tenfold Scalability with a Powerful Converged Private Cloud

Rabobank, a global banking and financial services group, faced the challenge of reducing the cost and complexity of managing thousands of virtualized and physical servers while ensuring highly available, 24/7 banking services. To modernize and consolidate its infrastructure, Rabobank partnered with Hitachi Vantara to build a converged private cloud using Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) hardware and Hitachi Unified Compute Platform Advisor for management and automation.

Hitachi Vantara delivered an automated converged private cloud combining UCP (and planned VSP 5500 storage) with UCP Advisor orchestration, Active Directory and RBAC integration, and enriched APIs for one‑click provisioning. The result: a 40% boost in batch performance, rapid growth from about 2,000 to 21,600 servers, on‑demand server provisioning in under eight minutes, full audit tracking of logins, and no additional headcount—just five people now manage the entire estate.
