Nonprofit Employs Agile Methodology To Build Global Peace

Nonprofit Organization needed a data-driven AWS partner to rapidly build a minimum viable product for a high-profile public reveal. The organization faced tight timelines, integration of back-end and front-end components, evaluation and embedding of an ML model, and redesigning unusable UI work. They engaged Hitachi Vantara’s Cloud Advisory Services (formerly REAN Cloud) to apply agile methods and AWS capabilities (Amazon S3, API Gateway, Cognito, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53) to accelerate delivery.

Hitachi Vantara worked alongside the nonprofit’s groundTruth team using story mapping, sprints, daily demos and hands-on sessions to scope the project, recreate the UI in AngularJS, build an interactive Mapbox visualization, and wire AWS services for secure, real-time data ingestion and newsfeeds. The result was an MVP delivered for beta testing at the public event (on a roughly six‑week cadence) that provided early-warning analytics, interactive heat maps and location-based risk visualization, real-time feeds and basic analysis—enabling validated learning for stakeholders and accelerating product readiness.
