Nexway, a global e‑commerce company offering electronic software distribution and B2B2C storefronts, needed to replace an expensive, time‑consuming in‑house analytics tool and cut costs by adopting a third‑party solution that could connect to a centralized data warehouse, scale with growing data and users, and be user‑friendly for report and dashboard creation. Nexway evaluated options and selected Hitachi Vantara’s Pentaho suite (Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics), working with partner Smile to pilot and validate the approach.

Hitachi Vantara implemented Pentaho Data Integration to build a centralized ETL/data warehouse and Pentaho Business Analytics to enable self‑service reporting, with Smile providing integration and consulting. The solution delivered near‑real‑time data access, faster report creation, blended views across finance, sales and marketing, reduced reliance on IT, and scalable performance—resulting in improved sales reporting, invoice preparation and marketing analysis across the company.
