A leading investment management company worked with Hitachi Vantara to modernize its mission-critical storage environment after discovering that moving all applications and data to Microsoft Azure was more costly and complex than expected. With trillions of dollars in client investments to support, the company needed a high-performance, reliable on-premises storage platform for trading, risk analysis, regulatory reporting, and other always-on workloads.

Hitachi Vantara designed a solution centered on Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform 5600 systems, replacing 10 older arrays with six NVMe-based systems and simplifying operations with Hitachi Ops Center. The new environment is expected to deliver sub-millisecond latency, with measured response times of 200 to 300 microseconds, 100% data availability for critical applications, around 70% data center floorspace savings, and a 62% reduction in power and cooling needs.
