LG Electronics Drives Appliance Manufacturing With Hitachi Unified Storage 130

LG Electronics’ European appliance factory in Wrocław was struggling with rapidly growing production data from real‑time scans and database updates and needed a unified, cost‑effective storage platform to support continuous data analysis and uninterrupted production. To replace aging AMS hardware and consolidate file, block and object storage, LG Electronics selected Hitachi Vantara’s Hitachi Unified Storage 130, deployed with Hitachi Command Suite, to meet scalability, performance and management needs.

Hitachi Vantara implemented HUS 130 (with Hitachi Command Suite) and migrated live data in three days without stopping production, delivering 99.999% availability, automatic tiering and easy expansion. The deployment simplified management, ensured guaranteed uninterrupted access to production data, provided about 10 TB of capacity (≈60% used) with planned two‑year headroom, and reduced risk and costs through faster recovery and lower expansion overhead — measurable operational improvements for LG Electronics.
