Leading Multisector Science Park in Italy Chooses Hitachi Data Systems to Support Top Performance and Consolidation

AREA Science Park, a leading multisector science and technology park in Italy hosting 90 research institutes and companies with around 2,300 staff, needed to renew and consolidate its aging N‑2 generation storage systems into a single, high‑performance, scalable platform to support tenants’ IT and R&D services. After evaluating market leaders, AREA Science Park selected Hitachi Vantara and its Hitachi Unified Storage (HUS) 110 to deliver the premium performance, reliability and scalability required.

Hitachi Vantara deployed the HUS 110 with Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning and the Hitachi Resource Manager utility as a turnkey solution, completing configuration and migration in days. The implementation delivered faster application response and VMware image creation, seamless integration with Windows, Linux and VMware environments, and approximately 50% consumption cost savings, while improving scalability, availability and storage provisioning for the park’s research and business communities.
