Leading Chinese Payment Provider Improves Database and Backup Efficiency with Hitachi File and Content Solution

Shanghai Shengfutong Electronic Business Co., a leading independent third‑party payment provider in China (also known as ShengPay), faced rapidly growing databases and an overburdened IT environment with manual script‑based backups, unstable NAS performance, and slow tape restores. To address these challenges they engaged Hitachi Vantara, deploying a file-and-content solution including Hitachi NAS Platform 3080 and Hitachi Unified Storage VM.

Hitachi Vantara implemented HNAS 3080 as a high‑performance NAS front end to HUS VM, integrated with NetBackup/NDMP for tape archival, enabling fast on‑disk restores and tiered storage. The solution delivered measurable gains: up to 700 MB/sec throughput per HNAS node, more than 40,000 NFS ops/sec, improved backup efficiency, reduced total cost of storage, and up to 100% availability while enabling nondisruptive maintenance and online capacity management.
