Large Asia-Based Bank, a leading banking institution, saw near-exponential growth after launching a new mobile app, driving sharp increases in customers, transactions, and data. To support this expansion over the next five years, the bank needed a new enterprise storage platform that could deliver greater capacity, performance, and data protection without disrupting core banking operations.

Hitachi Vantara designed and implemented a scalable storage architecture built on Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform 5500 and VSP E990, managed with Hitachi Ops Center and supported by Hitachi TrueCopy and Universal Replicator. The bank completed a live migration with zero downtime or performance impact, improved application response times from 5–7 milliseconds to sub-millisecond, and gained a platform that can scale from four to 15 storage controllers to support future growth.
