Kooperativa pojišťovna Selects Hitachi Solutions to Accelerate Digital Services for Customers

Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s., part of Vienna Insurance Group, needed to accelerate its digital services by increasing storage capacity, availability and performance while retiring end-of-life block storage and meeting a “never delete” data policy. To modernize its infrastructure and enable 24/7 access to customer documents and online claims, Kooperativa selected Hitachi Vantara solutions, including Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G1000, Hitachi NAS Platform and Hitachi’s hybrid/object storage and data protection offerings.

Hitachi Vantara deployed HCP in active‑active metro locations, VSP G1000 flash systems, HNAS and Global-Active Device with analytics and migration services (implemented with partner MHM COMPUTER A.S.). The new Hitachi Vantara environment delivered a 31% capacity increase, 2.7x IOPS improvement with 2.5x lower response times, 60% lower power consumption and 40% savings on data‑center cooling, freed 80% of rack space, supported 70,000 online life‑insurance cases in 2018, and now stores 92 million objects with deduplication and compression savings.
