KBC Group and K&H Bank Speed Up Performance, Data Analysis and Backups With Hitachi

K&H Bank, part of KBC Group, faced rising competition and a 30% surge in business data that was slowing analytics, application latency and backups. To address these challenges the bank selected Hitachi Vantara enterprise storage management and data protection solutions, deploying Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G1000 systems plus Hitachi Storage Virtualization Operating System, Hitachi Command Suite and related services.

Hitachi Vantara replaced K&H Bank’s high‑end storage tier with four VSP G1000 systems (with snapshots, remote replication and ongoing Hitachi Vantara Global Services support), which halved time to produce business figures from 48 to 24 hours, cut the DWH “Load Windows” from 24 to 12 hours and reduced recovery time objectives from 30 to 15 hours. The solution also sped test/dev provisioning, improved administration and scalability, and led K&H to acquire two more VSP G1000s and plan deployment of Hitachi Accelerated Flash.
