Infosys Improves Performance and Business User Satisfaction With Hitachi Flash Technology

Infosys, a global consulting and technology leader, needed faster SAP HANA deployments, dynamic resource elasticity and a way to handle unplanned systemic errors and additional audit checks. To solve this, Infosys engaged Hitachi Vantara to deliver a virtualized in-memory database infrastructure using the Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for the SAP HANA Platform with LPAR virtualization (Hitachi Compute Blade 500 and Hitachi Unified Storage 130).

Hitachi Vantara implemented firmware-level LPAR server virtualization and integrated storage to run multiple isolated SAP HANA instances on the same hardware. The deployment cut provisioning time to under 20 minutes (versus days), reduced power and cooling by 52% and space by 75%, sped deployment and reprovisioning, and enabled extra audit checks while accommodating unplanned systemic issues.
