INFORM, a Aachen-based supplier of GroundStar planning and real-time optimization software used across aviation operations, needed an embeddable, easy-to-use analytics platform to complement GS RealTime and its GS BIS module. The company required strong data visualization, ad-hoc reporting, role-based security and flexible integration across diverse customer IT environments, so INFORM selected Hitachi Vantara’s Pentaho Business Analytics and Pentaho Data Integration as the analytics foundation.

Hitachi Vantara delivered an OEM Pentaho solution—including Pentaho reporting, ad-hoc reporting and dashboards—integrated with GroundStar RealTime (accessing 10–90 GB from Oracle schemas) and currently deployed for about 30 GS BIS customers. The Pentaho implementation provides real-time reporting, predefined KPIs and visualizations that improve transparency, help customers meet service-level agreements, enable fast drill-down in time-critical ground handling, and support INFORM’s sales process by demonstrating cost reductions.
