HTK Enhances CRM Application by Adding Analytics

HTK Ltd, a UK provider of CRM and multichannel marketing automation (Horizon), needed to make its SaaS platform suitable for small and medium-sized businesses by adding fast, self-service, professional-looking reporting and scalable ETL. To meet these requirements, HTK turned to Hitachi Vantara and its Pentaho Business Analytics and Pentaho Data Integration products to replace an unwieldy proprietary reporting system.

Hitachi Vantara, working with its professional services team and partner Xpand IT, embedded Pentaho into Horizon, built a back-end data warehouse and OLAP cube, skinned the UI, and delivered eight dashboards and reports—completing the first phase in five weeks. The implementation gave HTK Ltd flexible, customizable reporting (including iPad-ready visualizations), near-real-time data migration, cost savings from the commercial open source licensing model, and enabled delivery of both “Lite” and “Professional” SaaS editions to the SMB market.
